Music awakens aesthetic consciousness in the depth of a human being’s mind and bring joy and happiness. A song is the truth about the experience of human life portrayed in different combinations of musical notes. In order to create a song, one must create a lyrical theme. To accomplish this, one must conceive an idea by drawing from one’s pallet of worldly experience. The musician carries the embryo created by the lyricist giving the human characteristics through the medium of sound. The singer bears the burdensome responsibility of conveying the expressions of the lyricist and the musician to the audience. By virtue of the singer’s skill the song has the capacity to transcend beyond its original form enabling the audiences to engage in sharing the experience aesthetically. The ‘Rasa’ or the delight which is experienced by listening to a supreme musical ensemble would be the delight approximating to universal love or ‘brahmanda sahodara’. We have no drought in experiencing this joy on the occasion fo the presentation of ‘Amara Gee Sara’.

Nanda Malani “Srawan Aradhana” is a bold attempt at a melodious rendering by Visharad Nanda Malini to give expression to the most profound thoughts of man by using a very finite means of words and then transforming those words into a universal language of music. Message from Her Excellency the President of Sri Lanka. I am pleased to send this message of felicitation on the eve of a cultural event that the Arts Foundation of Los Angeles is organizing to promote our culture among the Sri Lankan community domiciled in Los Angeles. Visharada Nanda Malani is a singer of great repute in Sri Lanka. your efforts at promoting our cultural values among the younger generation who are born and bred in alien soil is praiseworthy, ore so when it is through a personality who is greatly loved by the Sri Lankan, irrespective of their race, religion and culture, for her commitment to preserving our cultural values. I wish the Arts Foundation of Los Angeles success in all their future endeavors and also extend my best wishes for a very enjoyable evening with “Visharada Nanda Malani” at the Scottish Rite Theatre.
